6th Grade Art
Birch Tree Project
6th graders created birch trees using a masking technique. Students learned how to use the elements of line, color, shape, space and texture to make their representations of birch trees. Each student created a tree, deciding on how many branches they wanted, to what color they wanted the background to be, to how they would detail the bark after studying actual birch bark. |
Cut-Paper Collage Project
Students created insects that they folded to become three dimensional. First, students chose a color and found all different values of that color to make a collage, covering their insect. After they were done with their insect, they chose their background color to be the complementary color as they learned about the element of value and complementary colors.
